Dating after divorce can be fun, if you let it.

Dating can be awkward or weird after marriage, especially if you've been together for a long time. I know because I've been there. After 8 years of marriage I found myself navigating the world of being newly single with 2 kids and an ex-husband.

Here is my advice: forget everything you remember about dating when you were younger. It’s an entirely different ball game now. In my experience dating can be challenging at any stage in life, but make no mistake - dating after divorce can also be fun, enlightening and liberating if you open your mind and allow it to be.

Stop looking for love and just enjoy the ride. The harder you try to find love, the harder of a time you will have. Relax, stay present, and focus on creating this new stage of life.

Maybe this isn’t where you saw yourself back when you said your vows, but it’s where you ended up. It’s not a bad thing. You aren’t a failure. Let go of the guilt and fear. Be open to meeting new people. Enjoy new experiences and do things you maybe always wanted to but never did.
